What a Difference a Day makes - part 1.

Yesterday afternoon, I was in a happy place...sort of. I was tired, but that was okay because there were only two more days to the end of term.

I was really looking forward to these holidays because we were going camping at Queen Mary Falls, with our Daughter Laura-Jane and her husband, Sam.

TLOML has often taken me to this beautiful part of South East Queensland because of the stunning landscapes and birds that I can photograph and paint. However, this would be the first time that Laura-Jane and Sam would get to go, so we were really looking forward to it, but what a difference a day makes!

The other reason that I was in a better than usual mood , was because TLOML and I were going to have a dinner party at our place with the lovely people from the Arts Department where I work. TLOML was planning to make a feast of roast meats and vegies, which would be enough to feed the multitudes. We were going to eat out on our verandah and had even bought an outdoor heater to ward off the winter chills. It was going to be a great night, but what a difference a day makes!

Of course the main reason that I was in such a happy place yesterday was because IT WAS NEARLY THE END OF TERM! Who wouldn't be in a good mood? Sleeping, painting, gardening, camping, eating, spending time with family, sleeping...did I mention sleeping? Such a delicious thought - ah sleep! I mean I real sleep! Ridiculously indulgent sleep!

I had been concerned that TLOML might not be able to create his usual bounty for our dinner party on Friday night because he has been battling a nasty case of bursitis in his hip. So, when I called him on my way home from work yesterday, and he said he had been to get an xray of his hip, I wasn't at all surprised. When he said that he was making an appointment for a scan and ultrasound, I wasn't surprised. When he said that the doc was going to give him a cortisone shot in his hip, I wasn't surprised. When he said he needed to cancel our camping holiday, I was absolutely floored! This man never cancels! This man loves to go camping, loves to spend time with his family, loves to go 4 wheel driving, loves to get away, loves feeding the crazy birds.

This was serious!
